LIVING 2008: the Positive Leadership Summit is organised by the
LIVING 2008 Partnership, a consortium of organizations committed to
strengthening the movement of people living with HIV and their
communities. The consortium consists of the following partners:
- Global Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+)
- International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW)
- International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO)
- International HIV/AIDS Alliance (www.aidsalliance.org)
- International AIDS Society (IAS)
- International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
- International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF )
- The Mexican Network of People living with HIV
- Sidaction (www.sidaction.org)
- United Nations Joint Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)
- World Health Organization (WHO)
The Conference Coordinating Committee of AIDS 2008 has officially
recognized and enabled extensive support for this two-day conference.
While LIVING 2008 is an independent Positive Leadership Summit, it will
be logistically and programmatically linked to AIDS 2008, and PLHIV
focused themes and activities will continue to be an important
component of AIDS 2008.
To facilitate open communication
between all key organisations involved in planning for LIVING 2008 and
AIDS 2008, the IAS joined the LIVING 2008 Partnership in 2006.
The
Global Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+) is the lead
partner in coordinating and facilitating the planning and operation of
the Summit. Being the only world wide network of all PLHIV, GNP+ has
organised International PLHIV Conferences since 1987.
